Peace Prayer of St. Francis of Assisi

Lord, make me an instrument of your peace,
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury, pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
where there is sadness, joy;

O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console;
to be understood as to understand;
to be loved as to love.

For it is in giving that we receive;
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.

October 4th is the Feast Day of St. Francis of Assisi.

Thank you for reminding me of this prayer, I went to St Francis' Tomb in Assisi, it is a very holy and peaceful place. This one town has three saints buried there - St Francis, St Clare and St Ruprecht...

I really like your blog, it has a great mix of faith, aesthetics and the beauty of detail that is found in everyday life; but we sometimes are just too busy to notice.

By the way I would also like to say thank you for featuring some of the works from Lobo Luxe - I see you love postage stamps/ephemera - so not surprised you picked a Clare Hillerby bracelet!

Many thanks again and blessings!
