Joggling Board

The joggling board is between 10 to 16 feet long of a flexible board from a Southern yellow pine tree support by stands on either end. One is able to bounce up and down because of the flexibility of the board. It was believed to have been build in the early 1830's in the Lowcountry of South Carolina. The boards are painted "Charleston Green" which is 13 parts green to one part black. In the distance is Robert photographing and Sam looking at the ruins at Palmetto Bluff.

Not much joggling can be done by three people on one.

Fiona Barratt

The piece over the mantel captured my eye, but what a restful room. All the images are from one photo in Australian Vogue Living, but the little close ups show so much that I had to include them.

Scrapbooks

Record the Day has wonderful little images with the date added. It is so important that the images combined have a theme even if you are the only one that knows the connection. Images by Lobster and Swain.

Prada Look Book

You have to give Prada credit for not taking themselves too seriously and for publishing a fun book. The clothes are not there in some of the images and covered over in others.

Trees without leave are one of my favorite images.

This is the best photo of the Look Book.

Wonderful juxtaposition of images through out the book.

Talk about a bad hair day this is it. I will be the first to admit that I have more bad hair days that good days. but to purposefully have hair that looks like this for a fashion photograph is beyond my comprehension.

The orange or red dress under the brown dress is the only thing of interest. The girl on the left looks as if she is wearing hip weighters.

The pattern of the shirt reminds me of tattoos of Naive Americans.

More bad hair days

Hopscotch anyone?

Profiles

What is there not to like about Jane Eyre?

Birds in one's head.

Stamps are one of my favorite subjects. How amazing they are as works of design in such a small space.

Sinnerman by Nina Simone

Sinnerman where you gunna run to
Sinnerman where you gunna run to
Where you gunna run to
All on that day

Well I run to the rock
Please hide me I run to the rock
Please hide me I run to the rock
Please hide me lord
All on that day

Well the rock cried out
I cant hide you the rock cried out
I cant hide you the rock cried out
I aint gunna hide you god
All on that day

I said rock whats a matter with you rock
Dont you see I need you rock
Dont let down
All on that day

So I run to the river
It was bleedin I run to the sea
It was bleedin I run to the sea
It was bleedin all on that day

So I run to the river it was boilin
I run to the sea it was boilin
I run to the sea it was boilin
All on that day

So I run to the lord
Please help me lord
Dont you see me prayin
Dont you see me down here prayin

But the lord said
Go to the devil
The lord said
Go to the devil
He said go to the devil
All on that day

So I ran to the devil
He was waiting
I ran to the devil he was waiting
I ran to the devil he was waiting
All on that day

Oh yeah

Oh I run to the river
It was boilin I run to the sea
It was boilin I run to the sea
It was boilin all on that day

So I ran to the lord
I said lord hide me
Please hide me
Please help me
All on that day

Said God where were you
When you are old and prayin

Lord lord hear me prayin
Lord lord hear me prayin
Lord lord hear me prayin
All on that day

Sinnerman you oughta be prayin
Oughta be prayin sinnerman
Oughta be prayin all on that day

The Look

Our favorite image from Stephen Knollenberg's site and there are lots of beautiful images there, but this is the one for us.

First there is the chair, the shape of the dark table against the wall and the few items on the shelves. We gravitate to white walls and dark pieces so this is it. The red add the punch to keep it from being sweet, but with lines like this chair has there is no way this area can be anything but dramatic.

So we are wondering, can we pare down enough to have this look? Are all the books stored else where?

Rust and Green Color Theme

Continuing the color theme of the Trevor Dixon rooms are a pair of heels found on Garance Dore. Sequins no less; I would wear them for everyday heels.

Interesting Objects

How I love a collection of natural things. How wonderful is it that the walls, mirror, and the leather covered book are all the same color.

What a wonderful log with mushrooms. Are they real? Are they dried? Nice bookshelves with a interesting things to see. I like the shelves going up to the window with the green from outside showing.
