Gary Birch Doll

This is a doll made of bone and linen by Gary Birch.

I photographed the doll against a piece of homespun linen. Gary usually fills the bodies with sawdust.

I do not know if the screws are for effect or they actually attach the feet to the legs.

A Trio of Beauties

This shot has it all. Hydrangeas, a container wrapped in a music score, beautiful ribbon, a metal heart, the border, pewter plate. How tiny the arrangements must be to fit in a serving spoon.

This is from a new site that I have discovered Blomsterverkstad by Minna. Her site is floral arrangements that she make and photographs. Her images are large when you click on them. This makes it so nice to really see detail that you might miss otherwise. Everything is exquisite.

Katherines' European Trip

We have always wanted to light candles in our church, but they do not have this option. Maybe one day we will go to a church that does.

White Rooms

The plant adds a lot to this room.

Is this a workroom for making clothes for the greyhound?

Soothing Colors

I like the very deep seat with all the pillows.

White and beige with touches of dark thrown in. I always am drawn to linen tablecloths that have a contrasting border.

Journals

Stacks of books stuffed with papers. It takes a lot of time to paste in a notebooks all of the pictures, articles and stuff that you collect. I am way behind in working on my notebooks. Art tells me to scan my images and make an electronic scrapbook. That is what this blog is. So now I have yet another journal.

This image looks to have more books than journals. The one book by the coffee does appear to have type pasted in the notebook. There are clippings peeking out from the pages.

This photo appeals to me on several different levels; rocks, feathers, fabric and the notebooks.

Blue and Green

These are not normally colors that I like together, but this room works. The pieces taken individually border a little on the tacky to me. So do you have things because they work or because you really love the piece?

Brown Leather Chairs

This is the best picture of the three images. Of course, it is because of the dog. What an attitude! The photo wall is of interest. I wonder if all the images are really brown.

Sparse rooms and very worn chairs.

This is a comfortable looking room. It is not too over crowded with stuff. A lot of things to study. All the white gives a clean look.

Type

Beautiful script and decorative flourishes. The soft gray is from the opposite page. The paper was not thick enough for the printing on the back page not to show through. I wonder if that is a product of time as is the cream color of the paper.

I wonder if this color combination can be translated into a clothing outfit? That must be a topic on my mind as I have thought that when looking at photos lately. It is starting to be fall and there are some new clothes in my closet waiting to be worn. I am trying to think about how some of these new pieces can be worn.

Mary

Beautiful, serene room. Could it be because there is a statue of Mary? We have been trying to find a nice statue of Mary, but can only find the very expensive, old ones or the new and the cheap.
