TOAST Catalogue

Towels in white, cream, oatmeal, natural.

I went to the Toast web site and order the catalog; it is one of their fashion. I thought it would have the home products, but that may be another catalog. It arrived quickly and is beautifully photographed. There are some fun looking things. It reminds me of Anthropologie.

How Much Is Enough?

These photos above are of one of Ralph Lauren's homes is from the Habitually Chic site.

There is a richness in the pieces and the layering of objects. There is so much stuff in the top photo of the library when viewed large. Ralph does "create" the look of "to the manor born".

This reminds me of a book that I saw once that had families pictured in front of their homes with all their possession in the front yard. What would Ralph's front yard look like? Would the contents of the library alone fill the entire yard? What about all his houses around the world? How large would the front yards be to show all his possessions? How large would our front yards have to be to show all our possessions?

Do we acquire to please ourselves or to show off to others what we are able to own? They say we only use 20% of the stuff that we own. So what about the other 80%? What if our homes were stripped down to the 20% how would they look?

Scrapbooks

This is a picture from someone's scrapbook. The photos are from the old Victoria magazine. I use to have some of these pages. One photo shows different types of fiber and the other a lot of homespun linens.

Apartment in Paris

This is from Interiors web site.

After looking at the "French Style" interiors in the Veranda magazine they are nothing like this place. The furniture is large and heavy looking. The accessories are chunky. It is like the interiors are on steroids. I wonder if the people are overweight that live in then. Yes, this place has great light from beautiful windows, the molding and details are exquisite, the majority of the furniture is white or light looking. Do these rooms not look crowded with stuff because they are so large? If you are going to have a decorator for your house shouldn't you pick one with good taste? The people whose homes are showcased in Veranda magazine should take note.

Interesting

Nothing that I would wear, but interesting. The black and white grouping makes a bold statement. Even though there is stuff all on the floor the table is orderly.

Found on Ebay

You're sure to be the one who has given the best gift of all when you've wrapped it up and topped it with this outrageously terrific present topper tag. Tag is attached to a quilled flower perched atop a sturdy star made from a recycled record jacket. And it is finery that just keeps giving: attached is a bit of ribbon that turns this gift decoration into an ornament to hang.

Darryl Carter

The built in bookcases on either side of the bed are very nice. They look about the width of a book. The photo below is a different view of the same room. There must be two single beds in this room of different designs.
